We opened the show with this last week, but we had such an amazing reaction to it - and it's such a tune - that we had to make it this week's ENT. It's the brand new release from KDA and the follow up to his Katy B and Tinie Tempah featuring No.1 single Rumble, so we're expecting big things for this. I just love the vibe of this, really cool underground backing track and a big, big vocal. This week’s Essential New Tune is featured in last week’s Friday show on BBC Radio 1. Crowdmix, the London music streaming and social network startup that went into administration in July, has been sold to Nick Candy, the billionaire property tycoon who was also its main investor. (Business Insider)
A group of financial managers and music industry players, including Windish Agency, artist-management group Tmwrk and music management consultancy Mtheory, are starting The Unison Fund, an investment fund geared to financing tours, album production, videos and other ventures for emerging artists. (WSJ) The group has secured $25m in commitments from investors for its initial fund and is said to be considering acquiring music festivals such as those owned by SFX Entertainment.
