  • Google's Q2 2015 financial report shows a $17.7bn revenue for YouTube - an 11% increase over Q2 of 2014. Advertising revenue, much of it from mobile search, was also up 11% year-over-year at $16bn, and mobile viewers averaged more than 40 minutes on the site. (BillboardTubeFilterPaid clicks were up 18% while cost-per-clicks, the average price of its ads, fell 11% from the same period last year.
  • In the US, the Federal Trade Commission is said to have launched a formal investigation into Apple’s dealings with competing music streaming services in its App Store, targeting Apple’s 30% fee charged to subscription services who sign up new users through the App Store. (Verge)
